Finally....some excitement in the neighborhood
Too bad it was at our expense! Thankfully no one was hurt. We were shopping at Costco when two of our neighbors called us (Thank you Mandy!). The message I listened to said a truck had hit our house. I had to listen to it twice before it registered and by then Elliot was on the phone with our next door neighbor listening to the details. We went ahead and purchased our items, but the whole time I was envisioning the truck going through the house. I was afraid our kitties would be long gone and there would be extensive damage to the house. We finally got home and it actually was not that bad. Half the neighborhood was out watching and we had an ambulance, fire truck, two police cars, and animal control (apparently there was no dead deer or raccoons to clean up) all parked by our house. The truck that hit us was parked clear up at the beginning of the neighborhood. The brake cable snapped and the truck started rolling. Thankfully, no one was out and the truck rolled through a fence and stopped at our house. The police said our house was the best house to have gotten hit because our porch protruded out more than the garage. Had it been any other house, the truck would have gone through the house and the house would have been condemned. I'm glad we weren't home and I'm glad there was minimal damage to the house.

OH WOW!! That is really bad, but lucky since it could have been so much worse! So glad that everyone- including Kittys are ok!
Wow, freaky! Glad you missed it!
Holy Moly! Lucky you...sorta. I mean, not lucky that your house got hit, but lucky that it didn't damage more than it did :) I haven't read your blog in forever...(Slacker, I know) your new baby is soooo super duper cute! What a cute family.
I am SO glad it wasn't any worse than it was....and thank goodness it was a cold day so the kids were all safe inside the houses!
Sounds like a terrible day... First, i'm sure you got taken at costco for $300 bucks, then you go home to a truck parked on your porch. Glad no one was hurt, but the wallets feeling it! ( costco )
